Hours: Part-time, 35 hours per week

Monday to Friday - 10.30am to 6.00pm

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 52 weeks per year

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Site Assistant be a proactive integrated member of the School Staff Team, to  support the day to day running of our site and the maintenance and security of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist the Site Manager and Site Technicians in ensuring a safe and secure physical environment to support the educational objectives of the College. 
  • Maintain the College buildings and grounds in excellent repair, including structure, fabric and finishes. 
  • Ensure the site is secure, safe, clean and welcoming for staff, pupils, visitors and lettings users. 
  • To support the UCC vision ‘Everyone at UCC thrives’ 

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification or training in site maintenance, facilities management, caretaking, or health & safety (desirable).
  • Willingness to undertake further training, including health & safety, fire safety and safeguarding.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a site, caretaking, maintenance or facilities role, ideally within a school or similar environment (desireable).
  • Experience of carrying out general maintenance, minor repairs, and health & safety checks.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Good practical maintenance skills with knowledge of basic repairs, grounds maintenance and site security.
  • Sound understanding of health & safety and safeguarding, with the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
