Hours: 35 hours per week: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day
190 days per academic year - Alcester Grammar School term dates plus some INSET days
Salary: AGS Pay Scale Band E.15 - E.17 Actual Pro-Rat Salary: £23,802 - £24,593 p.a. paid in 12 equal instalments
(Salary calculation based on full-time E.17 £30,024 p.a. x 35/37 hrs x 43.7 / 52.143 paid weeks = £23,802 pa.) + Local Government Pension Scheme

About this role
This role would suit an experienced Learning Support Assistant, HLTA, Pastoral Lead or SEND practitioner seeking the next step in their career.
The SEND team at Alcester Grammar School is led by our Associate Assistant Principal SENDCo and supported by an experienced Learning Support Coordinator and dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised Assistant SENDCo to play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential within our inclusive and high-performing school community.
A significant aspect of the role involves leading The Bridge – our dedicated supervised provision for students with SEND. Working closely with students, parents, staff and external agencies, you will help coordinate and implement effective support strategies, monitor student progress and contribute to the ongoing development of SEND provision across the school.
The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the SENDCo to ensure that students receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong initiative and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
Previous experience of supporting students with SEND within a school environment is essential. Experience of coordinating provision, leading interventions or managing support staff would be advantageous.
