Manager and Careers Advisor at Kings Norton
Girls’ School and Sixth Form (KNGS), on a permanent, full-time basis, working 4
days per week (Tuesday to Friday) on a term-time only basis. KNGS is an OFSTED outstanding school

We are seeking a committed, and highly organised Learning Hub Manager and Careers Advisor to join our team. This is a pivotal role in school. The successful candidate will uphold the school vision of “opening a world of opportunities“ for all students and support them in demonstrating respect and courage so that all can flourish.
This successful candidate will lead and
develop an innovative school Learning Hub , ensuring it is fully embedded in
the curriculum and aligned with the school’s vision and values. It involves
strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of library services,
promoting reading, research skills, and independent learning, while supporting
teaching staff and students. The post holder will manage resources, budgets,
archives, and the library management system, organises events and student
enrichment opportunities, and ensures a safe, well‑regulated learning environment. The role
also includes supporting the Assistant Headteacher to deliver of a
comprehensive careers guidance programme. They will support the organisation of
workshops, and employer engagement—while maintaining careers resources and
supporting whole‑school
initiatives. The successful candidate
will provide 1:1 independent career advice and guidance and have, or be
prepared to study towards a Qualification
in Careers advice and guidance L6. As a visible role model, the successful
candidate will champion literacy, inspire curiosity, promote the Learning Hub
internally and externally, and contribute to staff development, school
priorities, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be a strong
communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with students,
parents/carers and outside agencies, they will be a visible presence across the school.
