About this Role

Pay scale: NJC Level 2C point 4 - £13.05 per hour.

The role would ideally suit a person living locally, who is able to commit to providing significant availability during the GCSE exam season of May/June each year. Hours are flexible, in line with exam timetables, however, you should be able to contribute circa 15 hours per week in order for exams to be carried out within JCQ regulations. Normal start times are between 8.15am and 8.30am. Finish times will depend on the length of the exam.

Applicants will need to attend annual Safeguarding training in September.

Equal Opportunities

Goldington Academy is an equal opportunities employer and therefore operates no restrictive policies in relation to age, sex or creed. It is the wish of the academy’s Governors to appoint the most suitable candidate from all the candidates offering themselves for appointment.

Safer Recruitment

Goldington Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all trustees, staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Record Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks, including overseas criminal background checks, where applicable, and other pre-appointment checks outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2025). All new trustees, employees and volunteers will be required to undertake safeguarding training on induction which will be regularly updated in line with statutory guidance.

This vacancy will close when all positions have been filled. Applicants will be invited to interview in order of application, if shortlisted.

Goldington Academy would like all candidates to answer specific questions for the personal statement section. For reference, here is a preview of the questions/headings:

  1. Please specify the days and times you would be available to work.
  2. Please give your reasons for applying for this post and say why you believe you are suitable for the position. Refer to the job description and personal specification and describe any experience and/or skills you have gained in other jobs or similar environments which demonstrate your ability and aptitude to undertake the duties of the post.
