About this Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic part time Teacher of Maths to join our team of experienced specialists in our Maths Faculty at Cirencester Deer Park School on a permanent basis from 1 September 2025. This opportunity has arisen as a result of a flexible working request from a colleague within the Faculty, so we are seeking a new colleague to work either 0.6FTE or 0.4FTE as part of a job share. This is an ideal opportunity for a more experienced colleague looking to work part time to experience teaching and learning in another school, or for an Early Career Teacher looking to take his/her first steps on the career ladder in teaching and further develop his/her skills on a part time basis, in our supportive Maths faculty.

The school's values of Trust, Kindness and Determination underpin all we do. Our pupils enjoy their learning in a disruption free environment, and staff are proud to work here. Following our Ofsted inspection in January 2023, Cirencester Deer Park School continues to be a good school. Inspectors noted that:

  • “Pupils welcome leaders’ high expectations of their behaviour and conduct… Pupils enjoy their learning and feel well prepared for the future.”
  • “Pupils behave well in lessons and benefit from learning without low-level disruption from others.”
  • “Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well supported by leaders in respect of workload, well-being and managing pupils’ behaviour.”

As a high performing comprehensive school in the South Cotswolds, Cirencester Deer Park School is committed to providing outstanding education and developing our staff. A full induction programme is in place to support ECTs and all new staff at Deer Park and across The Corinium Education Trust. Having initially converted to an Academy in April 2011, we are now a leading member of The Corinium Education Trust, the first 'mixed' Multi-Academy Trust in Gloucestershire which brings together a large secondary, community primary and church schools, the leaders of which are ambitious for their pupils' learning and life chances and are committed to continuous school improvement.

Further general information about our school can be found on our school website as well as a letter to applicants, Maths faculty information, Teacher job description, information about working at Deer Park, an application form and privacy notice for applicants. Interested applicants would be welcome to contact Allison Boucher, Co-Heads' PA by email with any specific questions or to arrange a visit to the school. Completed application forms should be accompanied by a letter of not more than 2 sides of A4 covering the specific points detailed in the letter to applicants, and should reach the school no later than 9am on Monday 28 April 2025. Interviews are scheduled to take place on either Wednesday 30 April or Thursday 1 May 2025, however, we reserve the right to bring the interview date forward should we receive a suitable application.

We are committed to the safeguarding of our pupils and employment is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and the receipt of satisfactory references.
