About this Role

Lead Practitioner - Behaviour & Inclusion

Salary: LP8 - LP12 (£59,475 - £65,608)

Closing date: 9am Thursday 8th May 2025

Start date: September 2025

North Huddersfield Trust School is recognised by Ofsted as a 'Good' school and has been described in the most recent inspection as having “a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.” We pride ourselves on the fact that the “diversity of the school and community is celebrated.” Our ambition for our students and our caring and nurturing approach to education within and beyond the classroom contributes to what makes our school a special place both for both staff and students.

We place great value on the fulfilment and well-being of our colleagues; our successes to date are in no small part down to their hard work, commitment and determination; our growing student roll enables us to provide opportunities for both personal and career development.

We are seeking to appoint a talented individual with a flair for leadership and innovation, as well as a clear commitment to driving progress and raising standards within the Inclusion Team. The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellent understanding of the highest quality classroom practice, exemplary and transferrable subject knowledge and curriculum awareness, a robust understanding of data and its application to enable all of our students to access a suitable pathway to progress as well as a passion for developing the best in others.  It is essential that you possess and expect exceptionally high standards in the classroom and are an enthusiastic educationalist capable of providing aspirational leadership aligned to our school’s philosophy whilst driving forward students.

This role is an important addition to the Lead Practitioner Team with a remit focused on Inclusion. This will involve the oversight and facilitation of alternative education across our KS3 & KS4 Evolve provision (Alternative Provision), coordinating reintegration into mainstream classes and supporting colleagues with their practice in using the most up to date and appropriate strategies to ensure excellence for all. Additional non-contact time will enable the successful candidate to implement these strategies and CPD for staff.

We welcome interest from potential applicants who represent the diversity of our school and local community.

If you would like to arrange an informal discussion of the role, or arrange a visit to the school please contact Lindsay Taylor at ltaylor@nhtschool.co.uk.

If you wish to apply for this post, please apply through My New Term. The closing date is 9am on Thursday 8 May 2025.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check.  A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

In line with KCSIE 2024 and guidance from The Safer Recruitment Consortium, shortlisted applicants will be subject to an online search.
