About this Role

We are seeking an exceptional Jazz Piano Specialist to join our outstanding Music Department from September. This exciting opportunity combines one-to-one jazz piano teaching with the musical direction of our acclaimed Big Band and Senior Jazz Ensemble.

This is a self-employed position offering an hourly rate of £44, with currently two days of teaching available, although flexibility may be possible for the successful candidate.

We are looking for an inspiring and highly skilled musician with significant experience in jazz performance and ensemble direction, alongside a genuine passion for music education. Working closely with the Head of Instrumental Studies, the successful candidate will play a central role in developing and strengthening jazz provision across the College, contributing to rehearsals, performances, and the wider musical life of the school.

The role will include:

  • Delivering high-quality one-to-one jazz piano tuition
  • Directing and developing the College Big Band and Senior Jazz Ensemble
  • Preparing students for performances, concerts, and events
  • Collaborating with a team of outstanding professional instrumental teachers
  • Supporting the continued growth and excellence of jazz at the College

Attendance at relevant concerts, performances, and ensemble events will be expected, with additional remuneration provided where applicable.
