About this Role

We are a thriving, diverse, and forward-thinking school that fosters a passion for learning and global citizenship. Committed to developing inquiring, knowledgeable, and open-minded students, we offer a broad curriculum that combines the IB Diploma and Middle Years Programmes with GCSEs. From September 2027, the College will also broaden its post-16 provision to offer A Levels alongside the IB Diploma, ensuring that all students can access the pathway best suited to their strengths, aspirations and future plans.
Our Modern Languages department is central to our international ethos, where all students study two languages at GCSE and Diploma students continue at least one in the Sixth Form. We offer French, Spanish, German, Italian, Mandarin, and Japanese, providing a rich linguistic and cultural experience.
We are looking for an inspiring and dynamic Director of Modern Foreign Languages to lead our ambitious and supportive team. They will be responsible for shaping the vision of the department, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and fostering a love of languages across all key stages. The successful candidate will be required to teach Spanish as part of the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced language educator with a strong track record in leadership or for a talented teacher seeking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will also be required to lead on the College’s trips and exchanges programme and to promote internationalism throughout the school.
Join us and be part of a school that celebrates languages, cultures, and the power of education to inspire global citizens.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
We are committed to providing students with a rich variety of opportunities beyond the classroom, and the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this by supporting our existing extra-curricular programme or by introducing new activities that further enhance its breadth and impact.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All post-holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) including barred list check.
We strive to be an inclusive and diverse workplace representative of our student population. Applications from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic candidates are especially welcome.
