About this Role

We are looking for reliable, flexible and conscientious individuals to add to our team of Invigilators to run and administer public and internal examinations and computer based assessments. You do not need previous examination experience, although an understanding of the importance and formality of the examination procedure and/or experience in managing groups of young people would be helpful. We are particularly keen to hear from caring and reassuring invigilators to support our students with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with their examinations, such as acting as a reader and/or a scribe.

This vacancy is a fixed term, casual hours contract. Subject to performance and availability, more opportunities for invigilating may arise in the future.

Applicants must:

1. Have availability to work Monday-Friday

2. Be punctual, organised, calm, flexible, efficient and able to deal with students in a professional and formal manner

3. Be able to work as part of a team and to set procedures

4. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Successful applicants will:

1. Need to have a DBS check, and sign up to the DBS update service

2. Receive training.

The Compton School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Compton School would like all candidates to answer specific questions for the personal statement section. For reference, here is a preview of the questions/headings:

  1. What relevant skills, training and experience do you have that make you suitable for this role?
  2. What makes you an outstanding candidate for this role?
  3. What training and support do you think you would need?
