The newly appointed candidate will be working in a committed, successful and experienced team which regularly achieves strong academic success. In February 2026 we received a very strong SIAMS inspection report which praised our RS curriculum:
RS holds a prominent place within the school and is valued by students and leaders. The Key Stage 3 curriculum is well sequenced, academically challenging, and contributes effectively to students’ wider flourishing. At Key Stage 4, the curriculum enables students to engage deeply with complex religious and philosophical ideas. This rich curriculum continues into Key Stage 5 in both the studied A Level course and the non-core provision.(SIAMS 2026)
The Religious Studies team are passionate practitioners and enhance the curriculum through the strong link to the Peterborough Cathedral and through extracurricular visits to other places of worship within the Peterborough area. At Key Stage 3 we follow the syllabus set out by the Peterborough Diocese, as well as following the AQA specification at GCSE and OCR specification at A-Level.
This post would suit an application from an early career teacher who would benefit enormously from strong mentoring, or alternatively from an experienced teacher who is looking to develop their skills in a new setting. The successful candidate will need to be able to teach across all age ranges and abilities. The ability to teach another subject would be desirable but not essential.
