About this Role

Newquay Junior Academy is seeking a highly organised, professional and welcoming Admin Assistant to join our admin team. This is a key role within the academy and is often the first point of contact for parents, visitors and pupils, so a calm, friendly and confident approach is essential.

32.5 hrs per week, term time plus 2 additional days.  This position is fixed term until 31st July 2026.

Key responsibilities will include:

Acting as a parent-facing first point of contact for the academy, both in person and via telephone and email.

Providing efficient administrative support to the KS2 team and wider academy.

Managing and maintaining pupil records using SIMS.

Supporting website administration, ensuring information is current and accurate.

Contributing to academy social media and communications, including use of Canva.

Producing accurate written correspondence with a high standard of spelling and grammar.

Using Microsoft Office platforms confidently, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy school environment while remaining calm and professional.

We are looking for someone who:

Has strong administrative experience, ideally within a school setting.

Has a high-level working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Is confident using (or keen to learn) SIMS, website platforms and digital tools.

Has excellent communication skills and is comfortable working with parents and visitors.

Is a team player who can also work independently and use initiative.

Enjoys working with and around children, and understands the importance of safeguarding.

Is flexible, organised and able to prioritise and multitask effectively.
