You will work with students who
have gaps in literacy, numeracy, or learning confidence, helping them to build
the skills and resilience needed to succeed.
This role will include planning
and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for groups of students (KS2–KS3
transition level); supporting students in developing core skills in literacy
and numeracy; adapting primary teaching approaches to suit a secondary school
environment; working closely with subject teachers, the SENDCo, Literacy Lead,
and pastoral teams; tracking progress and contributing to individual support
plans and building positive relationships that support student confidence,
engagement, and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who:
Is a qualified primary
teacher (QTS essential)
- Has a strong understanding
of KS2 curriculum and pedagogy
- Has experience supporting
students with additional needs (e.g. SEND, SEMH, or literacy/numeracy
gaps)
- Is skilled in
differentiation and intervention teaching
- Can build strong,
supportive relationships with young people
- Is flexible, resilient,
and enjoys working collaboratively in a secondary setting
Experience of working with
secondary-aged students or transition programmes would be beneficial but is not
essential.
