Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company (“the MAC”) was formed in April 2021 and currently comprises of 12 Catholic Primary Schools and 2 Catholic Secondary Schools across the Birmingham, Solihull, and Warwickshire areas.

John Henry Newman Catholic College is an oversubscribed and high performing 11-19 College in the heart of Chelmsley Wood, Solihull. John Henry Newman Catholic College is a vibrant school with a welcoming Catholic community. The staff and students have created a wonderful, supportive and nurturing environment in which to work. Visitors to the College remark upon the warmth of the atmosphere and the positivity displayed by everyone.

The successful candidate will be an effective classroom practitioner, with excellent interpersonal skills, who will support and contribute to a team ethos capable of driving improvements across the Maths Department. They should be adaptable and able to teach across all ages and abilities. In return they will have the opportunity to be part of a vibrant team teaching in a modern and stimulating learning environment.

The successful candidate will play a full part in the life of the school community, will be a form tutor and will contribute to maintaining the strong Catholic character of the school and in fostering the development of students and staff.

Safeguarding (in additional to your points on the JD)

  • Carry out Annual Safeguarding training 

  • Support the Manager in promoting safeguarding and welfare, being specifically responsible for the children, young people and vulnerable adults they are responsible for, or comes into contact with

  • Refer any safeguarding issues to the school’s DSL immediately and record concerns on the relevant IT system.

  • Ensure compliance to Safeguarding Policies and Procedures within the MAC

The post holder will be responsible for their own health and safety. All duties and responsibilities must be carried out in line with the specific requirements detailed in the school Health and Safety policies.

The post holder will be accountable for ensuring that they are aware of relevant school policies and that all duties and responsibilities are carried out in line with the appropriate policies and procedures.
