About this Role

One of the country’s leading academic schools, Queen Elizabeth’s Barnet blends a distinctive heritage and proud traditions with an innovative, forward-looking approach to providing a state education like no other to 1300 boys aged 11-18.

The Economics department achieves exceptional outcomes in public examinations at GCSE and A-level and a large number of boys move on from the School to read Economics and Economics-related courses at leading universities. The successful applicant will have a strong academic background and will demonstrate, through the recruitment process, an understanding of how to inspire very able students within and beyond the classroom.

Applications are welcome from experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers and those without a formal teaching qualification for whom we offer a comprehensive training programme and the opportunity to acquire Qualified Teacher Status. We are happy to receive applications from those wishing to work full or part time.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Closing date:  9am on Monday 27 January 2025. Applications will be assessed as they are received and interviews may occur at any stage during the recruitment process.

We are an equal opportunities employer. Queen Elizabeth’s is a dynamic school supported by a diverse and enthusiastic community of staff, pupils, parents and alumni. It is important that our staff reflect the diversity of our community, and we therefore welcome and encourage applications from people of all genders and sexual orientation, those from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds, and from those with disabilities.

Queen Elizabeth’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
