Specialist KS3 SEND Teacher – Make a Real Difference Every Day!

Are you looking for a teaching role where every day is different, meaningful and truly makes a difference to young people’s lives?

Join TLC – The Learning Centre in Bromley, our independent specialist day school dedicated to supporting secondary learners aged 11–16, including those with SEND, SEMH needs, ASD and moderate learning difficulties.

We are looking for a passionate and creative Specialist KS3 SEND Teacher to join our committed team and support our learners to build confidence, re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.

At TLC, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing, child-focused environment where learners are supported to feel safe, valued and ready to learn. With small class groups and a highly personalised approach, we ensure every learner receives the care, encouragement and support they need to thrive.

Our approach is creative, flexible and learner-centred. We use engaging, hands-on learning, community-based opportunities and carefully planned interventions to make learning meaningful, accessible and enjoyable.

Why join us?

  • A calm, supportive and nurturing specialist school environment

  • Small class sizes, allowing you to build strong relationships with learners

  • The opportunity to design creative and personalised learning experiences

  • A friendly and committed team who support one another

  • Excellent staff benefits and a high-quality wellbeing package

  • Strong career pathways and development opportunities across Melrose Education

  • A competitive salary and pension scheme for independent schools

  • The opportunity to be part of a school where your work is valued every day

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • Passionate about supporting learners with SEND and SEMH needs

  • Creative, adaptable and flexible in your teaching approach

  • Skilled at building positive relationships with learners

  • Able to deliver engaging KS3 learning across a broad curriculum

  • Confident in differentiating learning to meet individual needs

  • Committed to helping learners develop confidence, resilience and independence

  • Keen to work as part of a nurturing and supportive team

Your role as a Specialist KS3 SEND Teacher

As a Specialist KS3 SEND Teacher at TLC, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible and personalised learning for KS3 learners

  • Support learners with SEND, SEMH and additional needs

  • Adapt teaching to meet a range of learning styles, abilities and emotional needs

  • Help learners to re-engage with education and develop a love of learning

  • Create a calm, positive and safe learning environment

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and senior leaders

  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and plan next steps

  • Support learners’ personal development, independence and wellbeing

  • Contribute to a friendly, supportive and ambitious school community

This is a fulfilling, rewarding and life-changing role for someone who wants to make a real difference.
