About this Role

Our opportunity for you

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate Science teacher to take on a key curriculum leadership role at Landau Forte Academy Amington, an oversubscribed, forward-thinking 11–16 academy, judged Good in all areas by Ofsted, and on a clear trajectory of sustained improvement.

We are seeking a Key Stage 3 Coordinator of Science who is deeply committed to strong foundations, high-quality curriculum design and excellent classroom practice, and who understands the crucial role KS3 plays in securing long-term success at GCSE and beyond.

Key information

·       Contract: Full time, permanent position

·       Start date: Easter or September 2026

·       Closing Date: Wednesday 4th February

·       Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR2 (£3,200–£5,000)

Why join Landau Forte Academy Amington?

At Amington, staff wellbeing, professional growth and manageable workload are built into how we work.

  • A stable, collaborative and supportive Science faculty with clear leadership and shared planning
  • A curriculum-led culture, where KS3 is valued as the foundation of long-term achievement
  • Live marking and whole-class feedback, protecting PPA and reducing unnecessary workload
  • Protected CPD time within the academy day, including access to nationally recognised leadership qualifications
  • Enthusiastic, respectful students who are curious and motivated
  • Clear opportunities for career progression within a successful and ambitious Multi Academy Trust

This is a focused KS3 leadership role, offering genuine influence over curriculum and pedagogy, while being fully supported by the Faculty Leader and senior leaders. There is no expectation of whole-faculty line management, making this an ideal first or next step into middle leadership.

Who we are looking for

 This role would suit:

  • An excellent Science practitioner with a passion for KS3 teaching and learning
  • A teacher ready to step into middle leadership or further develop existing leadership experience
  • Someone who values curriculum coherence, sequencing and disciplinary knowledge

You will be committed to high standards, inclusive practice and ensuring that every student builds strong scientific understanding from Year 7 onwards.

We are deeply committed to staff wellbeing

Landau Forte Academy Amington is a proud signatory of the DfE Staff Wellbeing Charter. Staff wellbeing is central to our decision-making and is supported through a dedicated wellbeing committee. We want colleagues who stay, develop and flourish with us.

What we offer

  • A supportive, cohesive and welcoming working environment
  • Enthusiastic, polite and motivated students
  • High-quality professional development and leadership opportunities
  • Career progression within a respected Multi Academy Trust
  • Teacher Pension Scheme
  • Healthcare Cash Plan (Westfield Health)
  • Meal allowance
  • Excellent transport links (road, rail and nearby airports)

About the role

As Key Stage 3 Coordinator of Science, you will:

  • Lead and develop a coherent, ambitious and knowledge-rich KS3 Science curriculum
  • Work closely with the Faculty Leader to ensure strong progression from KS3 to KS4
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning at KS3
  • Use assessment intelligently to identify gaps and secure strong foundations
  • Coach and support colleagues to develop effective pedagogy and subject knowledge
  • Lead KS3 enrichment, practical science and curriculum innovation
  • Contribute to whole-faculty and whole-school improvement priorities
