We are looking for a LSA to work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate.
  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
  • Use strategies, under the supervision and guidance of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.

Pay range:

  • NJC 8-12 - £27,110.55 - £28,670.84 - FTE £30,824.00 - £32,598.00. This includes the inner London allowance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent.
  • TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group.
  • Ability to work closely with parents.
  • Ability to model acceptable behaviours and encourage good social skills.
