Kettering Science Academy, we believe education should help young people make
sense of the world and their place within it. Our Post-16 Social Sciences offer
plays a vital role in developing critical thinking, empathy, and informed
decision-making as students prepare for their next steps.
We are
seeking a passionate and reflective Teacher of Social Sciences to join our
team, with the role predominantly focused on Key Stage 5. We currently
offer Sociology, Psychology, and Criminology at Post-16, and we
particularly welcome applications from colleagues with strengths in Psychology
and/or Sociology.
π§ You will be joining KSA at an exciting point in the development
of Social Sciences. While the current role is centred on Post-16 delivery,
there is scope in the future to explore offering Social Science subjects
further down the school as the department grows. This is an opportunity to
contribute not just to excellent teaching, but to thoughtful, sustainable
curriculum development over time.
This role
would suit an experienced Post-16 teacher or an early career colleague with a
strong academic background and a desire to develop expertise in sixth form
teaching within a supportive, values-led environment.
The role
will involve:
π Teaching
Social Science subjects predominantly at Key Stage 5
π Delivering
high-quality lessons in Sociology, Psychology, and/or Criminology
π§© Planning
purposeful, well-sequenced Post-16 curricula
π Using
assessment intelligently to support progress and achievement
π€ Working
collaboratively with colleagues across the academy

strong, respectful relationships with Post-16 students
