ποΈ Closing date: 19 April 2026
π Location: Kettering Science Academy
π° Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 1b
β° Hours per week: Full time, permanent
π¬ Strong foundations. High
expectations. Leadership that makes a difference.
At
Kettering Science Academy, we believe that children do well if they can. When
they struggle, we look carefully at what is getting in the way and take
responsibility for removing those barriers. Alongside this, we are clear that
high expectations, strong routines, and academic excellence matter.
We
are seeking a Curriculum Leader of Science to lead the next phase of
development within a department that already has much to build on. Science at
KSA is well-resourced, staffed by subject specialists, and increasingly popular
at Post-16. The foundations are strong.
π§ You will be joining KSA at a point
where the focus is on driving consistency, sharpening practice, and
improving outcomes at pace. This role offers a genuine opportunity for an
ambitious colleague to step into leadership, supported by an experienced and
highly successful core subject leader, now Assistant Principal, who will
provide coaching, challenge, and day-to-day support.
This
role is not about maintaining what is already in place. It is about building on
strong foundations and taking the department forward.
The
role will involve:
π₯ Leading the development of a coherent,
high-quality Science curriculum
π Using data intelligently to identify
gaps and drive improvement
π― Ensuring high expectations are
consistently applied across all classrooms
π€ Coaching and developing colleagues
through clear feedback and modelling
π Maintaining and strengthening
successful Post-16 provision
π Contributing to whole-school teaching
and learning priorities
What
we offer:
π€ A supportive, values-led leadership
team
π« A well-resourced Science department
with strong subject expertise
π High-quality CPD and leadership
development through the Brooke Weston Trust
π Direct coaching and support from an
experienced Assistant Principal
π₯ Daily allowance for breakfast and lunch
π± A genuine opportunity to grow into
senior leadership over time
We
are looking for someone who:
π Is an expert Science teacher with
strong classroom credibility
π§ Is ambitious for students and unwilling
to accept underperformance
π¬ Can combine clarity, challenge, and
support in their leadership
π Is focused, organised, and able to turn
plans into consistent practice
π± Shares our belief that barriers should
be removed, not expectations lowered
This
role is about potential as much as experience. We are open to colleagues
at different stages of their career who are ready to step up, take
responsibility, and grow into leadership with the right support.
If
you are ready to lead a department with strong foundations into its next phase,
and to develop your own leadership along the way, we would love to hear from
you.
