At Kettering Science Academy, we believe that improving teaching and learning is a shared, whole-school responsibility. Our Lead Practitioners are not only outstanding classroom teachers, but key contributors to the academyβs Learning and Teaching leadership team.
We are seeking an exceptional Lead Practitioner of Science who will lead improvement within Science while also working alongside Assistant and Vice Principals for Teaching and Learning to support, coach, and develop practice across the academy, including beyond their own subject area.
π§ You will be joining KSA at a point where we are strengthening our instructional leadership model. Lead Practitioners sit at the heart of this work, operating as expert practitioners, coaches, and system leaders. This role is ideal for a highly effective teacher who is considering progression into senior leadership in the future and wants structured experience of whole-school teaching and learning leadership.
This role is about influence, credibility, and impact. It is about improving classrooms, supporting colleagues, and shaping a coherent approach to teaching and learning across the school.
The role will involve:
π§ͺ Modelling consistently
high-quality Science teaching within the faculty
π Coaching and mentoring teachers
across Science and other subject areas
π Working as part of a
Learning and Teaching leadership team with Assistant and Vice Principals
π Leading and
contributing to lesson observations, learning walks, and work scrutiny across
the academy
π Using data, evaluation,
and professional dialogue to identify improvement priorities
π€ Supporting whole-school
CPD, instructional coaching, and professional learning
π± Promoting inclusive
practice, strong routines, and positive behaviour for learning in all
classrooms
