We are seeking a committed, professional Teaching Assistant to work within the secondary school of our academy. There is an expectation that the post holder will operate in line with the professional standards expected of a teacher, providing supervision for students and support for the teaching staff.
You will have excellent standards in literacy and numeracy, as you will be providing educational support in class and in practical activities. You will have experience of supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, ensuring that students have the support required to succeed in their education.
You should have a quiet
and encouraging manner with the ability to remain calm in difficult situations,
along with excellent verbal communication skills and an awareness of the
importance of inclusion for children and young people with Special Educational
Needs.
You have the specialist knowledge, skills, understanding and experience relevant to the nature of this post. You will have a minimum of GCSE Maths and English at a grade C or equivalent. You will have prior experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting, delivering interventions and supporting students to achieve to their potential.
You
will be able to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships with
students and adults working in the school.
You will enjoy the challenge of contributing positively to the work,
ethos and values of the school and be willing to go above and beyond in this
important role. The ideal candidate will also have experience in delivering
personal care.
