We are looking for a Cover Supervisor  to provide continuity of education for pupils whose lessons are affected by short term absence of the class teacher.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that set work left by the class teacher is delivered effectively, following the lesson plan and learning objectives without having to plan or mark work.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy, ensuring students remain on task and learning continues uninterrupted.
  • Monitor young people during lessons, promote active participation, and provide guidance or clarification where needed
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, reporting concerns appropriately and modelling professional conduct throughout the school day.
  • Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations

Pay range: 

NJC 17 - 21 £23,966.29 - £25,604.89 (FTE: £31,022.00 - £33,143.00)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Permanent

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
  • Relevant experience supervising children in a school setting
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
