About this Role

We are a highly supportive school with strong subject leadership and senior management, committed to helping you grow professionally.  We are looking for an ambitious, dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our Science team - someone who loves the subject, communicates effectively with young people, and makes a real difference to student learning.

Our Science department consists of eight full-time teachers, including a Curriculum Leader who is part of the Senior Leadership Team, and two experienced Science Technicians.  The successful candidate will teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4 (with most staff teaching within their specialism at GCSE).  A Level teaching may be available for suitably qualified applicants.  We welcome applicants from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

As an all-through school, we work closely with our Primary colleagues to share best practice and ensure a smooth transition for students entering the Secondary Phase.

Our curriculum is broad, ambitious and designed to meet students' academic, social and emotional needs.  Planning is collaborative and centralised, but teachers have flexibility to adapt resources and activities to suit their learners.  Triple Science is a popular GCSE option, with three classes in Year 11 and two classes in Years 9 and 10.  At KS4, students follow the AQA GCSE specifications for both Triple Science and Combined Science (Trilogy).  At KS5, we offer A Levels in Biology and Chemistry, plus a Level 3 AQA in Applied Science and we plan to introduce A Level Physics soon.

We are looking for someone passionate about teaching and learning, eager to contribute to the department and committed to achieving the best outcomes for students.

Our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children will be reflected throughout the recruitment process and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and an online screening check.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible as the school reserves the right to close the advert should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
