About the Role 

This role provides valuable technical and administrative back-up for our well-resourced and ambitious Music department.  Day to day activities include classroom preparation, student support in lessons, and checking and maintaining a broad inventory of instruments, parts and equipment.  A key responsibility will be the recording of students’ work for exam submissions; the role will also help plan events, and take the lead in preparing and operating sound and lighting systems for a variety of school productions and public performances.

The post is permanent and full-time. Worked across term time, with an extra 5 days, it offers flexibility for applicants wishing to combine this work with family, caring or other pursuits.

To apply for this role you will have a passion for sharing your interest in music, and for supporting young people to achieve their goals. You must have some experience of live sound engineering or studio recording; familiarity with Mac Logic Pro or similar and video editing software would be an advantage.  You will have experience of planning and budgeting for events, and possess good knowledge of health and safety in relation to performance areas. Excellent organisational and communication abilities are essential. Flexibility, professionalism and team working skills are also a high priority to effectively manage a busy and varied workload.
