About the role
The City Academy Hackney is based in the heart of an evolving community in east London and we value the diversity of our workforce. Our Peripatetic Music Teachers come from a variety of academic and performance backgrounds and employ a wide range of musical and instrumental skills and experiences to enrich our school curriculum.
We are seeking a Music Teacher to join the team, delivering Trumpet tuition and leading performance groups in an educational context. The role is for one 6 hour day per week, working 30 weeks of the academic year. The job will involve preparing and delivering teaching sessions, in line with a recognised scheme of work, to both individual students and groups. The post holder will promote performance opportunities for students, liaise with parents, keep required records and assess students' progress.

About you
You will be passionate about music and keen to share your enthusiasm for playing and performing. You will have a relevant qualification and dynamic teaching techniques, with demonstrable experience of improving student outcomes. Excellent communication and organisational abilities are essential. You will have a commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students, as well as to ensuring that music is accessible to all abilities and social backgrounds.
