About the role

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Science Technician for a January 2026 start. The hours and term-time only work mode will suit candidates wanting to combine employment with family, caring or other responsibilities. The Academy can be flexible about how the 21 hour contract is spread across the week.
To apply, you will have a genuine enthusiasm for Science and be passionate about supporting our students’ success. You must have experience of handling scientific equipment and substances, and knowledge of health and safety issues in a laboratory context. You will be familiar with setting up and using administrative systems, and be competent in using IT systems. Excellent organisational, prioritising and team work skills are essential for working in a busy classroom environment. Your ability to work flexibly and creatively, providing a professional service at all times will be a key asset, as will your ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
