We are not just educating students for today but developing the leaders of tomorrow. Our pluralist Jewish ethos centres on creating confident, kind, and accomplished young adults ready to make a positive impact in the world.

The Role

As Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour for Learning, you will lead our work to create and sustain a culture of high standards, mutual respect, and inclusion. You will champion high expectations, supporting students to foster the right approach to learning so that every young person upholds exemplary behaviour and maintains a readiness to learn as essential foundations for success.

This is a key leadership role requiring vision, strategy, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every student. Alongside leading on behaviour for learning, this role offers the exciting opportunity to be involved in the restructuring of our current pastoral team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a structure that ensures the needs of the school and its students are met, enabling them to thrive academically and personally.

You will ensure consistency across all aspects of behaviour management, work closely with staff, students, and parents, and inspire the entire school community with your enthusiasm and passion for education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the school’s behaviour for learning policy, embedding high expectations and consistency across all areas of school life.
  • Support and develop staff to ensure effective behaviour management that aligns with school policies.
  • Work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
  • Play a key role in the restructuring of the pastoral team to ensure the needs of students and the school are effectively met.
  • Champion the importance of excellent behaviour as a foundation for learning and personal growth.
  • Contribute to the wider leadership of the school, driving forward our vision of developing leaders of tomorrow.

About You

We are seeking an inspirational leader who:

  • Is passionate about the power of education to transform lives and empower students.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record in leading or supporting outstanding behaviour for learning strategies in a secondary school setting.
  • Is driven by high expectations, consistency, and a belief that every student can achieve excellence.
  • Has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, resilience, and a commitment to fostering a positive school culture.
  • Brings an innovative approach to leadership, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

Why JCoSS?

  • Join a dynamic, supportive, and forward-thinking leadership team.
  • Work in a vibrant, inclusive school community where every individual is valued.
  • Be part of a school that consistently achieves outstanding outcomes for its students.
  • Have the opportunity to make a real difference in shaping the future of young people.
  • Play a leading role in shaping and enhancing our pastoral structures for the benefit of all students.
