Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 8:25am – 15:25pm

About You:

The Milton Keynes Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher who is committed to delivering high‑quality, engaging lessons that inspire creativity, confidence, and a love of learning in every student. You bring energy, enthusiasm, and a strong belief in the potential of young people, ensuring that all students, regardless of starting point, are supported to make excellent progress.

You are an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment, contributing positively to curriculum development, department improvement, and the wider life of the academy. You maintain high expectations, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and respectful classroom culture where students feel valued and encouraged to excel.

Alongside your teaching, you will play a key role as a Form Tutor, building strong relationships, supporting students’ personal development, and acting as an important link between home and school. You are dedicated to upholding the ethos, values, and standards of the academy, and you take pride in contributing to a community in which every student can be their best.


Our Ideal candidate will have: 

  • A passion for teaching music and the creativity to deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons.

  • A strong understanding of curriculum planning and the ability to deliver a broad, balanced, and inclusive music curriculum.

  • Experience in using assessment for learning to ensure students understand how to improve and make strong progress.

  • High expectations of student behaviour, progress, and achievement, with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.

  • The ability to track, monitor, and evidence student progress effectively.

  • A commitment to pastoral care and a willingness to lead a tutor group, supporting students’ academic and social development.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies.

  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to share best practice within the department and across the wider school community.

  • A commitment to professional development and staying up to date with best practice in teaching and learning.

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and the values of the academy.

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Music Teacher to join our thriving secondary school. The successful candidate will inspire and engage students across KS3 and KS4.
