South
Staffordshire College is looking to employ a dynamic, energetic,
and enthusiastic British Sign Language Lecturer to join the Community
Education and Learning team following significant growth in this field.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed British Sign
Language (BSL) Tutors to deliver Level 1 and Level 2 courses as part of our
adult community learning programme.
While
teaching, training, or assessment experience is beneficial, we also welcome
candidates who are ready to grow. We provide support to help you gain a
teaching qualification, ensuring you have everything you need to succeed.
About the Role
- Deliver engaging and high-quality BSL Level 1 and Level 2 classes for adult
learners
- Teach across community venues in Cannock, Lichfield, and Tamworth
- Deliver evening classes (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday only)
- Plan inclusive, learner-centred sessions suitable for mixed-ability groups
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to support learner achievement
- Foster a welcoming, accessible, and Deaf-aware learning environment
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum BSL Level 2 qualification (or higher)
- Experience working with adult learners or community groups
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
