Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Closing Date: 19 February 2026 at 4:00pm

About the Role
Students enjoy all aspects of the Drama curriculum here, accessing the subject area from KS3 to KS5. GCSE and A Level numbers continue to increase with many students demonstrating a clear love for the art form. Our KS3 curriculum is thematically sequenced and core skills are developed throughout each unit. KS4 and KS5 students are able to be assessed either as a performer or designer due to the range of technical equipment we now hold within the Academy. From September 2026 we will be offering a new course within the faculty to continue the expansion and will now be able to offer both A Level Drama and L3 Musical Theatre. Students are assessed through performance, design work, and written evaluations throughout all key stages and gain exposure to many aspects of theatre. The curriculum instils a passion and understanding of theatre and performance and offers a range of experiences for our students, including multiple trips each academic year to professional plays and musicals. We also have an extensive range of extra-curricular activities and opportunities that students can partake in, including the whole-school musical and KS3 Drama club.
Recently, the Academy invested into our Drama facilities and have provided us with a new Drama Studio for the team and students to enjoy. The Studio includes lighting and sound fittings, and our Trust Technician supports with the programming of this. We also teach in the large Theatre facility and have a Dance Studio that is used regularly as a practical space.
The Drama department itself is vibrant and full of
creativity, enthusiasm, and drive. The Creative Arts are recognised, valued,
and promoted at Corby Business Academy and we welcome applications from
teachers that share our passion for the Arts.
About Corby Business Academy
Corby Business Academy is a
school committed to providing the very best for the community it serves. We
have already undergone significant change in recent years under new leadership
and our goals for further development remain ambitious. We work relentlessly in
providing a high quality broad and balanced curriculum with stimulating
learning experiences for all our students. This is underpinned by our strong
sense of common purpose that is palpable in the Academy’s day to day operation.
We aim to actively encourage students to participate in all areas of academy
life, motivating and inspiring them to unlock their potential and realise their
ambitions. Our staff have an uncompromising commitment to this and work closely
with one another to support and develop students as well as one another.
In April 2023 the Academy was
judged to be GOOD in all areas by OFSTED, who highlighted that:
“Leaders have brought about
significant improvement at this school. They focus on providing an
ambitious curriculum for all pupils, including those with special educational
needs and / or disabilities (SEND)”.
“Leaders have raised their
expectations of pupils’ behaviour and conduct, which is having a positive
impact. Pupils behave very well in lessons. During lesson changeover times and
at breaktimes, the school is calm and orderly”.
“Parents and carers are positive
about the education their children receive. One view shared by many was, ‘My
child has thrived, been supported, encouraged, cared for and listened to at
this school”.
