Lead Invigilator – Join Our Warm and Supportive Exams Team

Are you organised, approachable, and passionate about making a difference? We are looking for an exceptional Lead Invigilator to join our friendly, caring exams team.

This is more than supervising exams—it's about leading with warmth, kindness, and professionalism. You'll work closely with our Exams Officer, providing reliable support before, during, and after each exam session. We're looking for someone who plans ahead, stays calm under pressure, prioritises effectively, and is prepared to stay until the job is done.

You'll lead a team of invigilators, ensuring examinations run smoothly while creating a reassuring environment for students and colleagues alike. Strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to think ahead and solve problems proactively.

If you're someone who genuinely cares, enjoys supporting others, and takes pride in delivering excellence as part of a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you. Join us and help ensure every exam session is a success.

About the department

The team is made up of an Exams Officer and 11 invigilators and together they are responsible for planning and managing all internal and external examinations throughout the year for both the Academy students and the Unit provision students within the school.  It is everyone in the team’s responsibility to ensure that all examinations comply with strict JCQ guidelines.

About Corby Business Academy

Corby Business Academy is a school committed to providing the very best for the community it serves. We have already undergone significant change in recent years under new leadership and our goals for further development remain ambitious. We work relentlessly in providing a high quality broad and balanced curriculum with stimulating learning experiences for all our students. This is underpinned by our strong sense of common purpose that is palpable in the Academy’s day to day operation. We aim to actively encourage students to participate in all areas of academy life, motivating and inspiring them to unlock their potential and realise their ambitions. Our staff have an uncompromising commitment to this and work closely with one another to support and develop students as well as one another.

In April 2023 the Academy was judged to be GOOD in all areas by OFSTED, who highlighted that:

“Leaders have brought about significant improvement at this school.  They focus on providing an ambitious curriculum for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and / or disabilities (SEND)”.

“Leaders have raised their expectations of pupils’ behaviour and conduct, which is having a positive impact. Pupils behave very well in lessons. During lesson changeover times and at breaktimes, the school is calm and orderly”.

“Parents and carers are positive about the education their children receive. One view shared by many was, ‘My child has thrived, been supported, encouraged, cared for and listened to at this school”.
