Your role:
You’ll love this job if you have proven expertise and a
passion for maths. As a teacher of maths at Thomas Deacon Academy, you will
teach key stages 3, 4 and 5. Your lessons will fuel our students’ curiosity,
and you will be committed to having high expectations of all students. Your
confidence will inspire them to embrace challenges and have the courage to
tackle complex problems fearlessly. You will show compassion by contributing to
the wider life of the school and its community.
This is a fixed term contract for one year.
About us:
Our courteous and supportive Maths and IT department
consists of 22 teachers who are experienced educators that foster a culture of
continuous learning. We encourage collaboration between colleagues to explore
new mathematical concepts and develop innovative teaching methods. Whether
you’re a seasoned teacher or just starting your career, we’ll support your
development; investing in your growth and skills through workshops,
conferences, and training sessions that offer unique development opportunities.
Our students are at the heart of everything we do; join us in shaping young
minds, helping them build a strong foundation in mathematics, and preparing
them for success.

The Academy’s recent Ofsted inspection in November 2024
rated all areas as ‘Good’ and noted that “pupils benefit from a welcoming
environment where diversity is celebrated. They enjoy celebrating each other’s
differences and participating in cultural activities. The school provides an
ambitious curriculum that ensures pupils develop a strong foundation of
knowledge and skills from Year 3 through to Year 13, preparing them well for
their next stage of education or employment.”
