About this Role

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Are you looking to work in a warm, friendly and forward‑thinking school where everyone is valued as a learner? Are you motivated to develop as a leader, practitioner and team member?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Shephalbury Park for a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dedicated team. We are a popular one‑form‑entry school with fantastic grounds and facilities, and you would become part of a committed and aspirational professional family.

We are seeking a confident HLTA who can work across the school, supporting high‑quality learning, leading small groups, contributing to planning and assessment, and delivering whole‑class learning when required. You will work closely with teachers and leaders to ensure that all learners receive the very best educational experience.

At the heart of our lovely school sit our Shephalbury LEARNER attributes, which we see every day from our staff and learners. As a valued member of our community, you will champion these attributes and promote our high ambitions for all.

We take the mental and physical wellbeing of our learners, staff and wider community very seriously. We are continually developing and implementing new ideas to support the wellbeing of our entire learning community. We are devoted to providing a happy, safe, fun and secure environment in which every member of our community feels valued and able to flourish.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to supporting learners across all age groups
  • Has strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills

·         Can work collaboratively while also showing initiative and leadership

·         Is reflective, proactive and committed to their own professional development

·         Brings warmth, positivity and high expectations to every interaction

If being part of this caring and ambitious team inspires you, we would love to hear from you. You are warmly invited to visit our superb school and see for yourself what we are talking about. We look forward to meeting you.

Our school is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The school promotes the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Recruitment decisions will be based on suitability for the role and alignment with our values, and we uphold ethical leadership principles in all decision‑making.
