About this Role

We are looking for a creative and caring teacher to teach our Nursery class from September 2026.

Our school is a two-form entry school on the development of Shilton Park in Carterton. The children and staff often talk about the family of St John’s and the unity within the school, where we all work together and support each other. As a school we are fully committed to ensuring that every child and adult reaches their full potential. Our school was judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in January 2020 and sustained this judgement in May 2025. Noted in the report, ‘Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel greatly supported by leaders and governors.’

Cherry Nursery is a 60-place nursery provision within our primary school.

We provide nursery places for both 15 hours a week and 30 hours a week, with some children attending morning and afternoon sessions only and others staying all day.

Our setting caters for children from the term after their third birthday, with intakes in September, January and April where spaces allow.

You will:

  • Have experience of teaching within Early Years
  • Have a strong commitment to delivering a rich and engaging curriculum, where positive interactions support high quality learning.
  • Have high expectations and a passion for inspiring and motivating children
  • Be innovative and creative
  • Have vision, energy and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Thrive on working as part of a successful team

We can offer:

  • An inspirational leadership team committed to the best outcomes for the school community
  • Opportunities to further your teaching and leadership skills
  • Friendly, hardworking children who want to succeed
  • A committed Governing Body
  • A supportive and dedicated staff team

Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. For more information call us on 01993 843124.
