Oaks Park High School – Ilford, Redbridge
Are you an ambitious and inspiring leader with a passion for post-16 education?
At Oaks Park High School, our Sixth Form is a recognised area of excellence within the school and a flagship provision within the local community. Our outcomes consistently place us in the top 10% of schools nationally for Sixth Form performance, and we are proud to be one of the highest-performing Sixth Forms in the London Borough of Redbridge.
Our students achieve exceptional academic and vocational outcomes and progress to a wide range of prestigious universities, including Russell Group institutions, alongside competitive apprenticeships and employment pathways. High expectations, expert teaching and rigorous academic mentoring ensure that students fulfil, and frequently exceed, their potential.
We are a highly inclusive Sixth Form, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of prior attainment. Our ethos is rooted in ambition, equity and opportunity, combining academic excellence with outstanding pastoral care so that every student is supported to thrive.
Our success is underpinned by exceptional systems and structures designed to maximise achievement. Every Sixth Form student is provided with a Chromebook to support independent learning and academic organisation. We have significantly invested in curriculum resources for all A Level courses currently offered, ensuring students have access to high-quality online teaching, revision and assessment support. In addition, our large, supervised Independent Study area is purposefully designed to foster scholarship; it is consistently well-used by students to consolidate learning, complete wider reading, and prepare effectively for examinations.
We are seeking a dynamic and committed Head of Sixth Form (TLR 1B) to implement and sustain this culture of excellence. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards, overseeing results and progression processes, and ensuring our Sixth Form continues to flourish as a centre of aspiration, inclusivity and achievement.
