We are in an exciting transitional period as we continue to strengthen our vision, provision and leadership structures. We are now seeking an exceptional Level 2 Teaching Assistant who brings passion, commitment and a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning.

We are also delighted to share that Harborne Primary School will be joining The Elliot Foundation in the academic year 2026–2027. Becoming part of this respected and collaborative trust will further enhance our capacity for rapid school improvement and academic excellence. We look forward to the benefits of high‑quality professional networks, robust leadership development and enhanced support that will help us continue to secure the very best outcomes for our pupils.

About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning and development, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery and classroom organisation
  • Encourage pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils with additional needs, following individual education or support plans where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • Is patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Demonstrates good communication skills and a flexible, team‑focused approach
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

 We Can Offer You

At Harborne Primary School, you will join a warm, friendly and dedicated staff team united by a shared commitment to giving every child an exceptional educational experience. We offer:

  • A positive, child‑centred ethos where pupils are respected, celebrated and encouraged to excel
  • High‑quality CPD and leadership pathways that support both current ambitions and future career development
  • Collaborative planning structures and strong professional dialogue across year groups and phases
  • A values‑driven community where wellbeing, teamwork and professional trust are central to our culture
  • Opportunities to contribute to whole‑school development during an exciting period of growth and transition

Safeguarding Statement
