We are looking for a dedicated Site Manager to join our school team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our school is a welcoming, secure, and well-maintained space where children can thrive.

This is a full time position, with a shift pattern, working with our site assistant. This is negotiable, we are open to discussions about hours and shift pattern, providing this still meets school requirements.

We are a three form entry primary school with a nursery. A distinctive feature of St Mary's Island School is that it shares the premises with our local St Mary's Island Church who are actively engaged with the school and delivery of its Christian ethos, visions and values.

About the Role

As Site Manager, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our school safe, secure, and welcoming for children, staff, and visitors. From overseeing maintenance and repairs to managing cleaning standards and ensuring the security of the premises, you’ll take pride in creating an environment where learning can flourish. This is a hands-on, varied role that requires practical skills, strong organisation, and a proactive approach—every day brings a new challenge and the chance to make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

· Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times.

· Carry out repairs and maintenance, keeping buildings and grounds in excellent condition.

· Supervise cleaning staff and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the school. Carrying out daily cleaning tasks.

· Manage budgets and plan for long-term site development.

· Liaise with contractors, oversee works, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

· Respond promptly to emergencies and take proactive steps to prevent issues.

· Support school lettings and contribute to creating a welcoming environment for all.
