About this Role

We are seeking an exceptional professional to work in close partnership with the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team of our ambitious inclusive Catholic Sixth Form College in a role that is trusted, strategic, and central to how the college is led.

You will operate at the heart of decision‑making managing a complex executive diary, supporting governance and strategic priorities, shaping effective communication and enabling the Principal to focus on what matters most - delivering an inspirational education for young people.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are digitally confident and forward‑thinking, with the curiosity and confidence to use technology, including AI‑enabled tools, to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support modern ways of working. You will be highly organised, discreet, resilient, and comfortable working with senior leaders and governors. Experience at executive level is essential; experience in education is welcomed but not required.

In return, we offer a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact, work with a values‑driven Principal, and be part of a college that embraces innovation, professionalism, and trust.

At SJR we value work-life balance and the well-being of our employees and will endeavour to support flexible working arrangements where possible, whilst ensuring the operational needs of the College are met. We promote equality of opportunity and embrace diversity. The College is accredited as a Disability Confident Employer and is a member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.

For further details about the college please visit our website www.sjr.ac.uk or e-mail hr@sjr.ac.uk  or telephone on 01942 219690.

Applications should be made on the College recruitment portal at Mynewterm. Please note that CV’s will not be accepted.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and online searches.
