Part Time, Fixed Term for One Year


Loreto college is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Sport to join our vibrant and well-established Sport department. The department consistently achieves both high pass rates and a very good high-grade rate.  The staff within the department have a range of experience and expertise and are very supportive to each other and the students. Staff meet regularly and work cohesively as a team, to achieve the best results for all students. The department are involved in organising and offering a wide sport enrichment experience.

As a Teacher of Sport at Loreto, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning under the leadership of the Head of Department.  You will undertake regular assessment of students’ work and provide timely feedback. You will also monitor and support the progress and development of students using the college’s bespoke in-house systems, as well as building and maintaining positive relationships with students. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and delivery of the subject in line with awarding organisation specifications and through departmental meetings.

Loreto Sixth Form College has been awarded a second consecutive outstanding rating in all areas under the latest framework in our December 2022 inspection. Ofsted noted "Students’ behaviour is exemplary’ and that ‘Students who study at Loreto do exceptionally well.’ Ofsted also noted that ‘Leaders place a very high priority on staff mental health and wellbeing including workload. For example, staff can access counselling services, chaplaincy support, and the employee assistance programme’.
