Loreto College
is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Economics to join
our vibrant and successful economics department. The successful candidate will
predominantly teach A-Level Economics. The ability to offer accounting as a
second subject is desirable.
Economics and Accounting at Loreto College are popular subjects which deliver high success rates and excellent student progression, with many students going onto fantastic destinations. The departments run a range of extra-curricular activities and trips that make Economics and Accounting exciting subjects to study at Loreto.
As a Teacher of Economics and Accounting at Loreto you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning under the leadership of the Head of Department. You will undertake regular assessment of students’ work and provide timely constructive feedback. You will also monitor and support the progress and development of students using the college’s bespoke in-house systems, as well as building and maintaining positive relationships with students. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and delivery of the subject in line with awarding organisation specifications and through working closely and collaboratively with your colleagues.
Loreto
College has been oversubscribed for many years, and this position has become
available due to the growth of the college. We recently added a new building to
our College campus to serve our diverse and dynamic student population which
will be approximately 4000 students for 2026-27.
Loreto Sixth Form College has been awarded a second consecutive outstanding rating in all areas under the latest framework in our December 2022 inspection. Ofsted noted "Students’ behaviour is exemplary’ and that ‘Students who study at Loreto do exceptionally well.’ Ofsted also noted that ‘Leaders place a very high priority on staff mental health and wellbeing including workload. For example, staff can access counselling services, chaplaincy support, and the employee assistance programme’.
