About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a PSHE Tutor to provide high-quality and engaging College tutorial programmes for our 16-18 year old students. You will be involved in delivering a range of group tutorials and workshops, to encourage our students to positively transition into adulthood and progress into further study or employment. In this role, you will also support students with the UCAS application process and provide support and guidance around apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

 

If successful, you would play a vital role in the College which is a highly successful and vibrant College, having been graded as ‘outstanding’ in all categories once again in February 2024 by Ofsted. Our college excels in providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which has resulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education in the sector.  In 2024, students at Joseph Chamberlain College achieved excellent exam results, as they have done for many years.

 

Our College is situated within easy reach of Birmingham City Centre, in a state-of-the-art building with superbly equipped classrooms and outstanding facilities. We were featured in the 2019 Parliamentary Review for best practice in further education for the second time and we have been awarded the Teachers’ Development Trust (TDT) Silver Award for our comprehensive package of innovative and high impact professional development.

Hours of work: Hours of work will be 36.5 hours over 5 days, during term time plus an additional 10 days which will be agreed by your line manager. You will very occasionally be required to work outside normal hours and this will be agreed by negotiation.

 

Salary: The salary for this post is paid on the Support Staff Pay Scale at point 9, currently £26818 per annum, FTE (Salary will be adjusted for full-time, and term time plus 10 days working).

 

Start Date: August 2026
