About this Role

Primary Outreach Support Worker

Are you able to work flexibly and independently? Do you have a good sense of humour and boundless energy? If yes, then there is a unique opportunity for you to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team at North Herts Education Support Centre, an “Outstanding” Pupil Referral Unit.

An opportunity has arisen here, within North Herts Primary Support Services, for a Support Worker to provide outreach support for ‘high needs’ pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties in North Herts Primary Schools.

This role requires staff to work 1:1 with pupils delivering an SEMH curriculum, supporting families and schools. You would need to work collaboratively with other professionals, with a multi-agency approach to create positive long term change.

This is a 1-year contract (in the first instance, with the potential to be extended) for a commission service post for 5 days per week (Maximum 25 hours) at H5.9.  The post to start ASAP, or within a candidate’s notice period.

The appointed candidate could potentially work in any of the North Herts Primary Schools in the Royston, Baldock and Letchworth Partnership areas and therefore access to own transport is essential.

We offer a friendly supportive environment in which we are continually developing and striving for excellence, through a commitment to continuing professional development.

Applicants are strongly recommended to visit the Centre, prior to interview, by appointment only. Please note applicants who do not receive confirmation of an interview have been unsuccessful.

The Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service to comply with the current national regulations.  North Herts ESC is an Equal Opportunities employer.
