Job Title: Exam Invigilator

Responsible to: Exam Officer

Start Date:  September / October 2026


About the Role

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that examinations are conducted fairly, securely and in accordance with examination regulations. Working as part of a professional team, you will help create a calm and positive environment that enables every pupil to perform to the best of their ability while maintaining the integrity of the examination process.

Key Duties Include:

  • Supervising students before, during and after examinations in accordance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
  • Ensuring examination materials are distributed, collected and handled securely at all times.
  • Maintaining a quiet, calm and orderly examination environment.
  • Monitoring candidates throughout examinations and responding appropriately to queries and incidents.
  • Completing examination registers, seating plans and other required documentation accurately.
  • Assisting with the setup and clearance of examination venues before and after each session.
  • Reporting any irregularities, breaches of regulations or safeguarding concerns to the Exams Officer.
  • Supporting students with approved access arrangements where required, following appropriate training.

  • Good administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
  • Discretion and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience working with young people is desirable, although full training will be provided.
