We are pleased to offer a unique coaching role at Denstone College working in partnership with Premiership Rugby Club, Leicester Tigers. This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful, committed and experienced Sports Department which experiences local, regional and National success across a range of sports. We have strong links with local clubs and community providers as well as high level sporting organisations. Denstone College is a primary partner school of Leicester Tigers and this role enhances the partnership between the two establishments.

Denstone College has a rich history and tradition in Rugby.  We are very proud of the success of our Rugby programme and are looking to appoint an experienced Rugby Coach with the relevant knowledge and expertise to help develop our programme and maintain our reputation as a Nationally recognised Rugby School.  Candidates should demonstrate experience in coaching young players to maximise their potential. 

Working closely with the Director of Rugby, the role will involve:

• Plan and deliver coaching sessions to age groups throughout the school in line with the Denstone DNA

• Lead the coaching of the 1st XV backs

• Play a lead role in the delivery of the Rugby 7’s programme

• Recognise the need for, and coordinate the delivery of, specific skills sessions for target players/groups. 

• Being involved in after school and weekend fixtures

• Being an integral part of the department and wider school community

• Contributing to the wider games curriculum

The successful candidate will have the ability to extend, challenge and develop our most able performers, as well as possessing the ability to inspire and nurture a love for sport in every pupil in the school. They must have a genuine commitment to driving sports participation, coaching and physical education at all levels (students 4-19 years old).

Candidates who are willing to commit whole heartedly to wider school life will be at a distinct advantage.
