What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
  • Delivering pre-set work and ensuring a purposeful learning environment
  • Managing pupil behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting pupils’ learning and responding to their individual needs
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and conduct
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, including supervision duties

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively
  • A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
