We are looking for 2 creative, calm and resilient teachers who can work independently from the main Polden Bower School in an inclusive satellite within a mainstream primary school. As a brand new provision, you will be part of the development of this innovative and inclusive provision.
We are excited to have a new Satellite at Somerset Bridge School, to provide a small group of children access to specialist teaching alongside inclusion opportunities within a mainstream school.
The successful candidates will be skilled in developing teams, be able to think creatively and be solution focused whilst ensuring the small team do not work in silo, but become part of both teams - Somerset Bridge and Polden Bower School.
Successful candidates will complete 10 day induction and ongoing training with Polden Bower School and will have support from the specialist team from within the special school.
Teachers for this satellite, will be skilled in adaptive teaching, being able to translate each child's individual needs and provision set out in their EHCP into a creative and engaging curriculum which allows each child to thrive. You will be responsible for updating each child's strengths and needs, tracking EHCP targets alongside providing a relevant curriculum which enables children to make academic progress.
Ideally, successful candidates will have a clean UK driving license to enable them to travel between the satellite and Polden Bower School to be able to access training and attend meetings as and when required.
Polden Bower, is a 260-place special school and has the specialist resources needed to meet the needs of each child. Having a satellite within a mainstream school provides a unique opportunity for a small group of children to have inclusive opportunities with their mainstream peers whilst having the opportunity to access the specialist teaching and facilities of the special school.
If you are excited to be part of this innovative and unique opportunity, feel you have the resilience to work independently from the main school, but have the skills, energy and passion to make a difference to our children, we would like to hear from you.
