About this Role

Radley College is looking to appoint a committed and compassionate Matron to join one of our boarding houses. This is a unique and rewarding role at the heart of a vibrant boarding community, where you will support the wellbeing, development and daily care of pupils.

Working closely with the Tutor and wider pastoral team, you will provide individual support to pupils, promote their welfare, and act as a key point of contact for both pupils and parents. Alongside pastoral responsibilities, you will also oversee aspects of the day-to-day running of the house, including supporting healthcare needs, liaising with housekeeping and maintenance teams, and ensuring a high standard of care and organisation.

The successful candidate will be approachable, adaptable and emotionally resilient, with excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in supporting young people. You will thrive in a busy, collaborative environment and bring energy, warmth and a positive outlook to the role.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a supportive and close-knit community at Radley College.

This is a residential position and accommodation is provided all year round, rent free.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon Friday 5 June but we reserve the right to consider applications as they arrive. Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 8 June.

We can be flexible with regard to start date - ideally we would like someone to spend time at the school before the end of this academic year, with a view to starting in September 2026. For the ideal candidate we will consider a January 2027 start.
