About this Role

We are looking for a teacher to join our Academic Support department for 27 hours per week. While the specific hours can be discussed at the interview, they must include Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Additionally, it would be helpful (but not essential) if the candidate could work one or two afternoons until 6:00 pm.

The successful candidate will primarily be expected to provide:

·short 1:1 support sessions to boys from Years 9,10 & 11 as they work towards their GCSEs

·longer 1:1 support sessions for Sixth Form pupils

·individual and group sessions for EAL pupils, including IELTs preparation

Previous experience in SEN is not essential but would be advantageous. 

The Academic Support department comprises five dedicated part-time staff who work flexibly around the College’s formal lesson schedule. The team includes four Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teachers who also take on key additional roles, such as Head of Academic Support, Access Arrangements Coordinator, Level 7 Assessor, and EAL (English as an Additional Language) Coordinator, as well as a Departmental Administrator. This friendly, collaborative, and hard-working team is known for its adaptability and proactive approach in supporting the diverse needs of neurodiverse pupils across the College.

Previous experience in SEN is not essential but would be advantageous.
