Casual/Supply Teacher – zero hours
contract
At
Uffington Church of England Primary School we believe Everyone Matters. Guided
by our values of Love, Respect and Resilience, we create a nurturing, inclusive
school where each pupil is known, cared for and encouraged to be the best
version of themselves. We are a small, village half‑form entry primary serving
a community that places great value on pupil voice, local heritage and mutual
support. Following our most recent Ofsted we are graded Good and our Personal
Development judgement was Outstanding.
We
are looking to appoint motivated, reflective and inspiring casual/supply
teachers who will put our vision and values at the heart of everything they do.
What we are looking for
The
successful candidate will:
- Confidently plan and teach the
National Curriculum while making learning engaging and accessible for our
pupils, including those with higher levels of SEND.
- Embed Love, Respect and Resilience in
daily practice so that relationships, behaviour and pupil wellbeing
support strong learning routines.
- Effective and consistent use of our
Positive Behaviour Policy to provide clear, calm boundaries and high
expectations in the classroom.
- Demonstrate a secure understanding of
effective pedagogy and assessment so pupils remember and build knowledge
over time.
- Show genuine passion for teaching,
take pride in their work, and model the values we expect of our pupils.
- Work collaboratively as part of a
small, supportive team — sharing practice, contributing to curriculum
development and supporting colleagues.
- Build positive relationships with
pupils, parents and external agencies to ensure every pupil can flourish.
- Be committed to inclusion and
challenge: making sure high‑quality universal teaching comes first and
targeted support is used where needed.
We
welcome applications from experienced qualified teachers only.
What Uffington offers
We
will offer you:
- A warm, community‑centred school where
staff, pupils and families live our Christian values every day.
- A supportive leadership team and
governing body who invest in staff wellbeing and professional growth.
- A genuine commitment to workload
management — meetings, planning and marking expectations are monitored to
protect teaching time.
- The opportunity to lead a subject area
and make a direct impact on our evolving curriculum.
- Regular CPD, coaching and peer
collaboration within our school and partner networks.
- Strong support for meeting the needs
of pupils with SEND and a sense of purpose working in a school where every
child is seen.
