Small enough to care, big enough to make a positive impact
Join a school where standards are high, behavior is good and ambition is encouraged. We believe strongly that every student should be able to succeed in all aspects of school life. We are recruiting a Teacher of Mathematics to deliver our curriculum across Years 9 to 13. While this role is primarily based at Seaton Valley High School, you may also have the opportunity to inspire younger learners at Whytrig Middle School, situated on our shared site.
This role is for an excellent mathematics practitioner to focus on delivery throughout Years 9-13 and make a positive contribution to results at GCSE and A level Maths. As a member of our Mathematics faculty, you will join a collaborative team of five specialists along with the Head of Faculty, committed to cultivating logic, problem-solving, and numerical fluency. Our teachers are proactive and take personal ownership of their teaching while actively sharing best practices to ensure every student thrives.
We operate across both Whytrig Middle School (Years 7–8) and Seaton Valley High School, where Mathematics is a popular choice at A-Level, along with Further Maths. Taking advantage of a relatively small-school environment, we provide bespoke support and a wealth of resources to inspire every learner, from those building foundational skills to our advanced mathematicians.
Seaton Valley High School benefits from a strong sense of community where every student is known and valued. Students embrace our core expectations: be ready, be respectful, be safe. These values are deeply embedded in everyday school life, helping to create a calm, purposeful learning environment where all students can thrive.
Who We Are Looking For We welcome applications from newly qualified and more experienced teachers that can demonstrate passion and impact in their teaching journey. We believe that every student deserves the chance to succeed, and we are looking for a dedicated teacher to help us make that happen. If you share our values and want to become part of a school that puts students and learning at the heart of everything we do, we would love to hear from you.
Visits to the school are also warmly welcomed and encouraged. Please contact us by email at vacancies@svf.org.uk to make an appointment.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check is required for this post.
